Softwood timbers are manufactured predominantly from kiln dried radiata pine. Structural pine is strong and dimensionally stable. Low moisture content stabilises radiata pine, minimising distortion and dimensional changes. Drying improves strength, stiffness and nail holding. It is accurately dimensioned and is a light, easy to handle timber.

Treated pine is a timber which has been impregnated with a chemical solution containing two major components; fungicide and insecticide giving it a long term resistance to decay, insects and other wood destroying organisms. This effective and long lasting protection makes it very durable to applications exposed to the elements.

Design Pine is a range of structural and decorative timber products coated with a genuine primer. Treated for all above ground applications, Design Pine is finger jointed and or laminated for increased dimensional stability to give a reliable product for years to come.

An imported plantation timber mainly used for pergolas and structural framing, oregon is one of the hardest softwoods. It is only moderately easy to work with but is popular because it is available in long lengths.
